WTF, Is The Creamy Miso Bacon Carbonara Udon Burning?

Oh… nevermind. It’s just my hair burning.

I don’t usually come into the kitchen, but when I do - my hair is burning.

Spring break is literally heating up on the WTF Homefront. Imagine quietly working from home and your fiancée walks in with a dish of steamy, creamy miso carbonara and the announcement that she fried her hair on the gas stove.

That’s called lunch + entertainment, fam.

WTF Hubby quickly calculates how much hair I’ve burned off and multiplies that by the number of meals I’ll have to cook before it reaches dire length. “You’re not going to have any hair left if you keep cooking!”

“STOP COOKING!” My bridesmaid instructed. “Do you even want hair at your wedding photoshoot?”

Despite that kitchen fiasco, WTF Hubby loved my carbonara. I used udon, because it doesn’t leave you with that heavy feeling like pasta does. I was inspired by the carbonara that Hubby orders at Cafe de l'Orangerie, a French-Japanese fusion cafe that we used to visit on date nights. He even asked me for the recipe!

It’s actually a very simple recipe.

Just tie back your wild, luscious locks in the kitchen, and you will be okay, I promise.

I’ll just be over here, trimming off burned hair, and applying deep conditioner.

Enjoy your meal!
